I have a 65 Chevelle, Malibu and it has a 383 stroker in it. For some reason it's always had an issue with the starter, some times it fires right up and other times i turn the key and the power is there but no response from the starter. When that happens i can jump the starter with a screw driver and she fires right up. Dose anybody have any thoughts on this problem ?

If it's happening when the car is hot, then it sounds like a heat problem. You're headers (which I assume you are using) are heating up the solenoid which expands and freezes up. If that's the case then a good heat shield should take care of it. If it's happening when the car is cold also, then that is an electrical problem. I'd start at the ignition switch, checking contacts with a test light. Then check the area where the fuse block goes through the firewall, sometimes the terminals can get loose and lose contact.
